Incepted in 1982 as a partnership concern SKB Builders & Fabricators, the firm used to undertake work related to civil and structural construction in oil & refinery industry, for government-owned companies. The firm majorly dealt with construction of refinery units, heavy foundations, industrial sheds, technical building and gas stations.

Having witnessed success in its initial phases, characterized by timely execution of all the projects, the firm forayed into other segments within the ambit of its existing work. Subsequently, in 2010, S.K.B. Builders India Limited was incorporated which took over S.K.B Builders & fabricators with all its assets and liabilities. Currently, the company is renowned as S.K.B. Builders India Limited (SKB)

Gradually, over the years, SKB has established itself in designing and executing complicated projects on time. Among the completed projects are multistoried building with world-class finish & quality, along with electricals, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, firefighting and plumbing. SKB also specialises in reinforced cement concrete framed structures/buildings, heavy steel structure and high-rise building and structure. Additionally, SKB provides consultancy services in designing, engineering, procurement, construction, and integrated projects, especially for the petroleum and natural gas industries.

The geographical reach (of operations), which was majorly concentrated in particular set of regions/cities, has now been spread PAN India. Moreover, with SKB achieving the top line of Rs 1,000 million and Rs 1800 million during fiscal 2018 and 2019 respectively - making it eligible to bid for large projects, the unprecedented large projects taken henceforth, will further enhance the business model and establish its presence as one of the key players in oil and refining construction industry.

Apart from the regular business income, SKB also generates other income by way of rental receipts from one of its warehouses. Albeit, the contribution from the same in the overall top line remains minimal currently (around Rs 12 million during fiscal 2019), however, the same has improved considerably over the past couple of years.
